About DegreeProof — what we help you do, what we don’t
DegreeProof is a guidance site for distance and online study in India. We help you check a university or programme against the official government record — UGC, and for distance/online study UGC-DEB — before you pay any fee or accept an admission offer. This page explains who we are, what we help you do, and what we deliberately do not do.
DegreeProof is a private official-source checking and education-facilitation service. It is not UGC, DEB, NAAC, NIRF, a university, or an official admissions authority.
Who DegreeProof is
DegreeProof.com is owned and operated by Karm International Private Limited, a private limited company registered in India (CIN U80301GJ2010PTC059318) and based in Vadodara, Gujarat. Karm International is the brand owner of the DegreeProof site and is the operator behind every page you read here. The full registered-office details and contact addresses are shown in the site footer.
The site helps you check distance and online programmes against official government sources — the UGC website, the UGC-DEB recognised-list pages, and the university’s own official admission and fee pages. We do not generate the official records; we show you where to find them and what to look for.
What DegreeProof helps you do
DegreeProof gives you guidance and checklists for checking an official source yourself, so you can confirm a programme on the government record before you pay.
- Where to look. We point you to the official sources that matter — the UGC and UGC-DEB pages, and the university’s own official admission and fee pages.
- What to confirm. Our checklists walk you through recognition, programme, mode, session, fee source and the admission link — the things worth confirming on the official source before any payment.
- How to spot a look-alike. We show you how to tell an official domain from a look-alike, so you confirm on the real source and not a copy of it.
- You confirm on the official source. A check is something you do on the official record — DegreeProof helps you do it. It is not a status we award.
What we do NOT do
DegreeProof is a guidance site. To stay honest about what the site actually does, we deliberately do not do any of the following:
- Public catalogue not live yet. DegreeProof’s public university and programme pages are not live yet — they will be released only after official-source checks and legal review. Until then, this page explains how to check an official source yourself. DegreeProof does not rank universities or publish any “best/top” ordering.
- No approval and no status badge. We do not approve a programme, a university, or a degree, and we do not award any badge that reads as a finished government-approved status. The official authority is the only source of recognition status.
- No independent verification by us. Independent review means review by a third party, not by DegreeProof — by definition, DegreeProof cannot itself be independent of DegreeProof. Confirming a programme is something you do on the official source.
- No confirmation of recognition by us. We are not the regulator. The official authority is the final word; our role is to show you where the official source is and what to look for.
- No enrolment recommendation and no judgement of admission safety. We do not tell you where to enrol. The decision — and the responsibility for confirming the programme directly with the official authority — remains yours.
- No professional opinion and no recognition guarantee. The site is guidance for students, not a professional or regulatory opinion, and not a promise that any particular programme will be officially recognised for any particular purpose in the future.
Commercial model and future admissions support
We are open about how DegreeProof is funded. Today the public site does not charge you for this guidance and does not collect admissions enquiries. We are not hiding a commercial model: if DegreeProof later offers an admissions-support journey, how it works and how it is funded will be disclosed openly at that point.
Gate-1 does not collect admissions enquiries or route users into counselling. Any future admissions-support journey must use counsel-approved consent, commercial-interest disclosure, and data-sharing controls before lead capture, partner suggestion, or handoff.
